Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima

The Sanctuary is one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world. Founded after the Marian apparitions of 1917, it includes the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, the Chapel of Apparitions, the Basilica of the Holy Trinity and vast spaces for reflection and prayer. Every year, millions of pilgrims visit the Sanctuary, especially on May 13th and October 13th, the dates of the apparitions.

Mira de Aire Caves

The largest cave system in Portugal, the Grutas de Mira de Aire offer an impressive underground adventure. Visitors can take guided tours through a network of beautifully lit stalactites, stalagmites and underground lakes. This natural wonder, discovered in 1947, is now one of the country's Seven Natural Wonders and offers a cool refuge on hot days.

Batalha Monastery

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Batalha Monastery is a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline architecture, built in gratitude for Portugal's victory at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385. Known for its intricate stonework and grandeur, visitors can explore the Founder's Chapel, the Royal Cloister and the Imperfect Chapels, which are architectural marvels.

Aire and Candeeiros Mountains Natural Park

A stunning natural park that features limestone landscapes, caves, hiking trails and unique flora and fauna. The park is also home to dinosaur footprints preserved in limestone — a fascinating experience for families and nature lovers.

Convent of Christ in Tomar

The Convent of Christ is a former stronghold of the Templars and, later, a monastery for the Knights of the Order of Christ. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, this unique structure includes elements from several architectural styles, including Gothic, Manueline, and Renaissance. The iconic Manueline window and Charola (the round Templar church) are unmissable.

Alcobaça Monastery

Also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Alcobaça Monastery is a 12th-century Cistercian abbey. Nazareth

Famous worldwide for its giant waves and surfing scene, Nazaré is also a charming fishing village with a beautiful beach and traditional Portuguese character. The Nazaré Lighthouse and the São Miguel Arcanjo Fort offer a vantage point to watch surfers tackle the waves, especially in winter when they can exceed 30 meters.

Óbidos Medieval Village

Surrounded by well-preserved walls, the town of Óbidos is like a journey back in time. Known for its narrow cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses and the imposing Óbidos Castle, it is one of the most picturesque villages in Portugal. In July, the Medieval Festival transforms the town with medieval reenactments, fairs and markets, while the annual Chocolate Festival is a delight for food lovers.
